Down the street from my tiny Vancouver apartment, somewhere in the gargantuan labyrinth of Stanley Park, are the miraculous flower gardens that I’m supposed to be writing about. Instead, I’m an Irish pub with my Hungarian girlfriend, sipping Columbian decaf from a Swiss-made cup, wondering what being Canadian means.
